WHY HIOORA™ AIRLIFT
A NOTE FROM THE FOUNDER
It started with a simple complaint we kept hearing — and feeling ourselves: "My feet are killing me by the end of the day."
Long shifts. Travel days. 14,000 steps that turn into sore heels and an aching lower back by 5 PM. We tried the drugstore insoles — flat foam that packed down in a week. We tried the "premium" ones — stiff plastic that felt like standing on a board.
So we worked with a manufacturing partner in Asia to build the insole we actually wanted to wear all day:
- A sealed air-cushion capsule in the heel — the same impact-absorbing principle as premium athletic shoes
- A deep U-shape heel cup that cradles the ankle and keeps you steady, step after step
- A breathable honeycomb surface so feet stay cool and dry through the longest days
- A resilient PU base that springs back instead of flattening out after a month
And because we were already building the perfect comfort insole — we gave it three height options too. A subtle, premium sneaker-style lift, completely your choice. Comfort first; the extra inch is just a bonus.
If your feet have been quietly begging for a break — welcome. You're in the right place.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTION
Will people see them in my shoes?
Will people see them in my shoes?
No. The forefoot is only 0.3 cm (1/8") thick — thinner than most standard shoe insoles. They stay completely hidden inside low-cut sneakers, dress shoes, boots, and loafers. The air cushion sits inside the heel cup of your shoe where nobody can see it. Even if someone glances inside while you're tying your laces, it just looks like a normal cushioned insole.
Won't my heel stick out from the back?
Won't my heel stick out from the back?
Not when you choose the right size. HIOORA AirLift is designed to sit inside your shoe's heel pocket — your heel rises with the cushion, but stays within the shoe's natural heel collar. The visible silhouette of your shoe doesn't change. This is the key difference between AirLift and bulky external "shoe lifts" — those add height by sticking out the back of your shoe. Ours add height invisibly from inside.
How does a 1.7" insole give "real" height?
How does a 1.7" insole give "real" height?
Our insoles add up to 1.7" of lift inside your shoe. When combined with the natural heel height of most shoes (~0.8"–1.3" for sneakers and boots), your total perceived height can increase by 2.5" – 3" compared to going barefoot. That's the difference between 5'7" and 5'9" — a noticeable shift in any meeting, photo, or first impression.
Which boost should I pick — Subtle, Bold, or Daring?
Which boost should I pick — Subtle, Bold, or Daring?
Depends on your shoes and how aggressive you want to go:
- SUBTLE (+0.7"/1.5cm) — best for low-cut sneakers, oxfords, slim dress shoes. Almost no break-in needed.
- BOLD (+1.1"/2.5cm) — best for casual sneakers, casual leather shoes, mid-cut boots. Most popular choice.
- DARING (+1.7"/3.5cm) — best for high-top sneakers, work boots, ankle boots. Max boost; needs shoes with heel room.
First-time buyer? Go BOLD — it's the sweet spot of height gain + invisibility + comfort across the widest range of shoes.
Will I feel like I'm wearing high heels?
Will I feel like I'm wearing high heels?
No — and this is one of the most common worries. High heels force your weight onto the ball of your foot, which is why they hurt. HIOORA AirLift is engineered the opposite way: the heel cushion is supported by a sealed air capsule that absorbs impact and distributes weight evenly across your foot. Most customers say it feels like walking on regular cushioned shoes, just slightly elevated.
Does it support my arch?
Does it support my arch?
Yes. The PU foam base is contoured with a gentle arch shape that follows the natural curve of an average foot. It's not a custom orthotic — those are made by podiatrists for specific conditions — but the contour offers light arch support that most casual wearers feel as a comfort upgrade vs flat insoles.
Note: If you have a diagnosed condition like plantar fasciitis, flat feet, or severe overpronation, please consult a podiatrist before using any insole, including ours.
Can it help with back or knee fatigue from standing all day?
Can it help with back or knee fatigue from standing all day?
Many of our customers report feeling less foot, knee, and lower back fatigue after long days — especially those whose jobs keep them on their feet (teachers, nurses, restaurant managers, retail workers). The air-cushion is designed to absorb impact that would otherwise transfer up through your joints with every step.
That said, HIOORA AirLift is not a medical device and doesn't treat or cure back pain, joint conditions, or any medical issue. If you're experiencing chronic pain, please talk to a healthcare provider.
Will my shoes feel too tight after putting them in?
Will my shoes feel too tight after putting them in?
The forefoot is ultra-thin (0.3 cm), so the front of your foot has the same room as before. The heel area is where the boost happens — so:
- If your shoes already feel snug → start with the SUBTLE option, or try shoes with extra heel depth (sneakers, boots).
- If your shoes are loose-fitting → any boost works, including DARING.
- Some customers go half a size up in shoes when wearing the DARING boost daily. The free 60-day return covers you if it doesn't work out.

Can I trim them to fit?
Can I trim them to fit?
The forefoot tip can be lightly trimmed with scissors for fine-tuning — many people trim 0.5–1 cm off the toe to match their exact shoe shape.
⚠️ Do not cut into the heel area. That's where the sealed air capsule sits — cutting it ruins the cushion and voids the return policy.
For best fit, choose your true shoe size from the size guide above — the air cushion is designed to align with your natural heel position.
